Glen E. Kroshus was born May 17, 1926, the son of Martin and Olga (Wiig) Kroshus in rural Perley, MN. He was baptized July 10, 1926, and later confirmed on April 28, 1940, at Bethania Lutheran Church, Perley.
He attended grade school near his home and high school in Borup, MN. As a young man he worked on the Julius Trieg farm and at the Frank Frater farm. He entered the United States Army in January 1945 and trained in Fort Ripley, KS. While in Japan he received 3 medals. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Perley where he farmed for several years.
Glen was united in marriage to Lola M. Bjerke on July 28, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They lived near Perley where they raised their four children; they also lived in Twin Valley and Gary, MN. In 2005 they moved to Borup and in 2006, Lola passed away. Glen moved to the Valley View in Ada, MN, and later to Bethany on University, Fargo, ND. He enjoyed expert care at Bethany. The staff and residents at Bethany became like family to him.
Glen is survived by four children: Kim, Jenny, Linda, Gloria; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter due this summer, his brother: James Kroshus; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lola; sister Doris Nichols; and brothers: William “Wendell”, LeRoy “Clifford”, Kenneth, and Verne “Ole”.
