Mr. Henry W. Parker, 93, of Crockett, previously of Crosby, Texas, passed away Thursday evening, May 14, 2015 at the Winfield Nursing Home. Mr. Parker was born April 17, 1922 in Genoa, Texas and had lived in Crosby for 60 years until moving to Crockett in October 2013.

Mr. Parker was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II in the 1st Infantry Battery B 32 Field Artillery 1st Division. He was involved in 7 campaigns and received several medals.

He worked for Exxon Chemical Plant in Baytown, Texas as a Supervisor until he retired in 1982 with 34 years of service.

He married his beloved wife, Vera Mae Schulte, December 24, 1950. They were married 51 years before she passed away in 2002. To this union they had five children.
Mr. Parker’s hobbies were raising calves, tending to fruit trees and gardening. He loved to walk for exercise every day and enjoyed most of all being with his family. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa and great-grandpa. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include son, Vernon R. Parker and wife Karen, of Pasadena, Texas; daughters Jeanette James and husband John, Nancy Brown and husband Mark, Peggy Reid and husband Edward, all of Crockett, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren plus one more to come in November; 7 step-grandchildren; one brother Robert Parker and wife Bonnie, of Highlands, Texas; one sister Lillian Shaffer of Pearland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Shelia Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceded in death by his wife, Vera Parker; son Terry W. Parker; parents Carl and Lydia Parker; 4 brothers, Herman, Jack, Will and Oscar Parker; infant brothers William and Hansel Parker; two sisters Dorothy Parker and Vera Bruner.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, May 18, 2015 from 5-8 pm in the evening. Services for Mr. Henry W. Parker will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Sterling-White Funeral Home in Highlands, Texas with Mr. Tony Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Sterling White Cemetery.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Jeremy Parker, David Brown, Aaron Brown, Adam Brown, Brandon Reid, J. David Parker, Matt Holbrook, Kevan Zwhar and Woody Sunday.
