OBITUARY
Mrs. Franklin Gifford (Ellen Hatch Gifford) died at her home in Woods Hole on Thursday, Feb. 21, after several years of invalidism, at the age of 73 years.
She was born in Woods Hole, the daughter of Charles and Adeline Hatch and had spent her life here. In 1882 she married Mr. Franklin L. Gifford, who survives her; as does a daughter, Mrs. George Griffin of Woods Hole; and two sons, Charles E.L. Gifford, Woods Hole and William Maxon Gifford, New Bedford. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Church of the Messiah, of which she was a member, with burial at Woods Hole.
