Martha married Henry Harrison Harless on December 8, 1867 in Medina, Jefferson County, Kansas. They were blessed with two children, a boy and a girl.
About 1875 they moved to Douglas County, Missouri.
Besides her own two children "Matt" helped raise a niece and a nephew.
She lost her own son when he was only 26 years of age, leaving behind a wife and an unborn child.
