Georgia married John Ray Wire on 01 Mar 1946 at the First Baptist Church of North Hollywood. She was given in marriage by her foster father, Lester Sommerfeld.
Her husband was the son of James Robert Wire and Alice Christine King of Downey, California. John worked as a watchmaker in a jewelry store.
In 1958, Georgia's biological mother came to California to visit her daughter for a month. They had not seen each other for 22 years at the time.
Georgia and John were the parents of 2 children. Over the years, they lived in several places in California, including the cities of Downey, Placentia, Whittier and Anaheim.
Georgia's daughter, Jennifer, was a home economics teacher and mother of 2 children. Tragedy struck in early September of 1989 when her family was traveling in a car that rode up a cement wall under a freeway overpass in LA. Jennifer and her 14-year-old son, Jason David Gierman, were killed when the car overturned. Her husband and daughter survived.
Georgia lived until 2010. She passed away at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Survivors included 1 son.
In addition to her daughter and grandson, Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, John; her foster parents; her biological mother and father; and 1 brother, Norman Arnold, Sr.
