Andrew Jackson Crabtree, 91, of Clyde, died at his home May 17, 2015. He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Winfield, Tennessee, to Andrew and Emma (Schitwood) Crabtree. After the death of his father, Andrew was raised at the Junior Home in Tiffin. May 14, 1949, he married Alice Slatman. She preceded him in death Aug. 13, 1987. Surviving are three children, Andrea (Michael) Kehres of New Caney, Texas, Debra Weber of Tiffin and Andrew (Rose) Crabtree of Tiffin; a stepson, Richard (Nancy) Mestrez, in Wartrice, Tennessee; three grandchildren; and a brother, Carl (Dorie) Crabtree in St. Augustine, Florida. A son, Joel Crabtree, and 11 siblings are deceased. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Family services will be conducted under the care of Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.
