Bob was a switchman at Rock Island Railroad. He would have retired in another year. He LOVED his family & his 4 grandkids!

Robert H Hoffman, 54, of 39 N 75th St, Kansas City, KS, died yesterday at St Margaret Hospital after he apparently suffered a heart attack. Mr Hoffman, a lifelong area resident, was a switchman for the Rock Island lines, where he had been employed 28 years. He was a member of the Switchmen's union.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Hazel Hoffman of the home; a son, James R Hoffman, 4320 Everett; two sisters, Mrs Dorothy Billion, 5110 Parkview, and Mrs Clara Dingwerth, 1874 N 36th St, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday at the Porter chapel; burial in Chapel Hill cemetery. Friends may call after 5 o'clock tonight at the chapel.
