MARSHALL — Memorial services for Adelaide Antoinette Weingartner, 88, of Springfield, Va., and formerly of Marshall, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall.
Mrs. Weingartner died April 7 at a hospital in Fairfax, Va.
She was born Oct. 1, 1900, in Minneota to Ole and Bertha (Rogde) Sterk. She graduated from Marshall High School. Andrew Weingartner and she were married in 1920. They resided in Minneota. In 1929, they moved to Marshall. In addition to a clothier business in Minneota, they owned and operated the Central Hotel in Marshall. Her husband died in 1938. She continued to operate the hotel until the early 1960s. In 1966, she moved to Virginia, where she resided with her daughter. She had been a member of First English Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Parent-Teacher Organization, Girl Scouts and Hope Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sons, Andrew Jr. and Robert; daughter, Oritha Anne "Skeets" Williams; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Hellen O. Applen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son.
The Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
