Maxine M. Abney, 62, Gadsden, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, after a brief illness. Funeral at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with burial in Forrest Cemetery. Native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and was a member of Reed Memorial Baptist Church of Attalla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Audrey Abney. She was employed by Riverview Regional Medical Center for 39 years, working in the Health Information Management Department as medical transcription coordinator and most recently as HIM supervisor. Ms. Maxine is survived by her sister, Freida Hicks; brother-in-law, Glenn Hicks; special friend, Gerald Copeland; and special niece, Ashleigh Hicks.
