Moved to IL from Mass. via Gates, NY. Established a livery stable which was said to be the largest in Chicago at the time of the Great Fire, a few weeks before his death. It is also said that he lost everything in the fire. Cause of death is not known. Husband of Emily Wright who was born in New York and was wealthy in her own right, at least by the turn of the century.
