J D Smith passed away peacefully at his home in Mustang, Oklahoma on May 20, 2015. He was born on March 23, 1923 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Ed and Della (Roberts) Smith. He married his life-long love, Muriel Stringfellow and the couple had three daughters, Rhonda, Kathy and Deena. JD served our country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. After his service, JD returned to Oklahoma and began his career as a Meter Technician for Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America for 35 years before his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing a round of golf, fishing and continued to garden until last year. Preceding JD in death are his parents, brothers Archie Smith and Duel Smith, sisters Reva Turner and Marie Morrow, and grandson Shaun Walters. Family visitation will be from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on May 21, 2015 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville. Graveside service will be at 2:00PM on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Dwight Perkins will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the West Metro Church of Christ, 10145 Northwest Expy, in Yukon, Oklahoma.
