William was the son of William Nolin and Eleanore Robert.

Baptism by a priest named JB Dupuy. It was translated as:

"On this February 21st, 1855, I the undersigned priest, baptized Guillaume (William), born today of the legitimate marriage of Guillaume (William) Nolin, shoemaker of this parish and Eleinore(Eleonor) Robert. Godfather Mayloire Nolin, godmother Anastasie Robert, who as well as the father did not know how to sign (their name)."

William married on Feb 25 1884 at Holy Angels Church, St Albans, Vermont to Ada (aka Edesse B Cross) Lacroix, she was the daughter of Joseph Lacroix and Ada Vachon.

1900 census of St Albans, Vermont, William now married 16 years said he was born Feb 1856 (which we know is a year off). He said he was a farmer and emigrated in 1862. His wife Ada is now age 34 b Vermont and said she was born Sept 1865, she also said she was the mother of 7 with 6 living. Children in Household at this time: Sarah age 15, said b Apr 1885 Vt, Arthur age 12 said b Jan 1887 Vt, Mary age 11 said b Feb 1889 Vt, Marshall age 9 said b July 1890 Vt, Leo age 5 said b Sept 1894 Vt George b Mar 1900 Vt.

In 1910 William P is located in St Albans Town on Maquam Shore Road, he is still farming, and age 55, he said married 26 years. His wife Ada is now age 45 and she said mother of 7 with 6 living. Other family members: Son Marshall is now age 19, son Leo age 15, son George is age 10. Also married son Arthur now age 23 and married 3 years, daughter in law: Delphine age 22 b Vt and the mother of 1 with 1 living. Grandson: Earnest age 9 mos b Vt. Also in household of William is his Aunt Sara Dubuc, she is widowed age 70 and born in Canada, she said mother of 1 with 1 living. (she showed emigrated in 1875 and has her own income) . William now said he emigrated in 1858 and still a alien.

In 1920 when the census was taken, William is still on Maquam Shore Road and farming, he now is age 64 and said emigrated in 1858. His wife Ada is age 56. Sons: Marshall is age 28 and single, and George age 19 and single. both sons are listed as farm laborer on the home farm.
