Frederick was born the son of John W. and Caroline E. (Pearson) Coleman. He married 1st Jennie F. Cummings on 14 June 1877; and 2nd to Mary E. Dunton on 23 March 1889. Fred had three children with his first wife, and five children with his second wife. He worked a number of different jobs including paper box maker and operative in a straw factory. He died relatively young while living his daughter in Framingham MA.
