Dropped Dead
Berry Davis received word this morning that his father, W. H. Davis, had dropped dead on the streets of Corpus Christy. Mr. Davis made his home in Gonzales for years, and many will regret to hear of his passing.
The remains of Mr. W. H. Davis will arrive in Gonzales tomorrow afternoon over the S.A. & A.P. at 4 o'clock. Services will be held at the residence of his son, L. B. Davis, at 5 o'clock, after which interment will be made in the Masonic Cemetery.

Remains Of W. H. Davis Laid To Rest
The remains of the late W. H. Davis, who passed away at Corpus Christi, arrived here Saturday afternoon and were laid to rest with fitting ceremonies, interment taking place that afternoon in the Masonic Cemetery following impressive funeral services conducted at 5 o'clock at the residence of his son, L. B. Davis, where were gathered numerous old friends of the family living here and over this immediate section.
Dr. W. K. Penrod, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducted the services, which were heard by many of the dependents old friends who had brought numerous lovely floral tributes to lay on the bier of a former comrade and associate.
A brief service was conducted beside the grave as the last offices for he dead were prformed. Z. J. Boothe, F. B. Houston, J. F. Skinner, N. D. Cone, J. F. Remschel and H. Gurinsky were the acting pall bearers.
Surviving Mr. Davis are a daughter, Mrs. Cobb, of San Antonio, and two sons, M. H. Davis of this city, who accompanied the remains from Corpus Christi. Mr. Davis was a native of Gonzales county and residence here for many years, being a former automobile dealer of this city until about eight years ago, since which time he had made his home in San Antonio. He was a member of the Masonic serenity.
At the time of his death he was manager of the Grant-Briscoe Automobile Company of San Antonio, and according to announcement in the Express, he was driving a car which he was going to demonstrate to a party, stopping in front of a Corpus Christi undertaking establishment. Upon being asked a question and receiving no response, the party turned to discover that Mr. Davis was dead at the wheel.
He was 60 years of age. His sudden passing was a shock not only to his family, but to his many old friends as well.
Mrs. M. H. Davis and Mrs. Cobb were among those from out of town who attended the funeral, coming down from San Antonio Saturday afternoon.
