Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with John Love, pastor of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
James was born Oct. 5, 1934, in McAllen. He married Lana Lee Britton on Nov. 5, 1995, in Gatesville. He was a retired laundryman and manager. He was well-loved by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Gayle Lawrence, in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Lana Lee Lawrence of Amarillo; a son, James Brett Lawrence of Stratford; a daughter, Loris Ann Patton of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Candace Michele Bales of Canyon; two brothers, Alfred "Andy" Ross Lawrence of Dallas and David Dodson Lawrence of Oklahoma City; a sister, Lorna Beth Frizzell of Abilene; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
