Janet Taylor Griffith previous resident of Kirkwood South passed away peacefully at her home in Rosharon on February 22, 2006. She is survived by her husband Delbert Griffith, children Angela Zepeda Walther and son-in-law Carl Walther of Houston, Candice Belle Zepeda and granddaughter Piper Bolton of Friendswood, parents Ervin and Essie Lev of Friendswood, sisters Beverly Taylor Woodward of Seabrook, Alicia Lev Louvier and husband Scott Louvier of Alvin. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Laura Taylor Kenney. Visitation and services are pending at South Park Funeral Home. Both visitation and memorial services will be held at South Park Funeral Home 1310 North Main in Pearland.

Janet was a totally unique person. She never met a stranger. Recently her parents had moved into a new home and upon each of her visits she would take Piper her granddaughter for a walk or push her in her tricycle. She would come back to her parent's home and say, "Well I met some of your new neighbors". She would recite their names, how many children they had and when they moved in. She would even stop and visit with homeowners whose home were not complete and introduce herself and Piper to them. During the last couple of years since her illness she became very close to her family. Every morning and I mean every morning about 7:00 AM she would call her mother and say "What are you doing", and then chit chat for a few minutes. Throughout the day she would then call her mother just to check in with actually nothing to say. Also she would always have an off the wall question about something or someone. Her mother could not say she did not know or not have an answer. Janet would always want a reply no matter what the answer was. She would ask her dad who was his favorite Pro sports player or favorite sports team was and he knew he could not say "I do not have one". He would always say Larry Bird or the Yankees and she would be happy. We never knew or ask why she was asking these questions because we knew that would just lead to additional questions.Recently she became involved in watching the TV program "Lost" and since it is a confusing and guess who or what type program, she would call her father after the program and ask "What did they mean when so and so occurred"? He knew even though he did not understand, he had better have an answer, no matter what because if not she would continue to ask questions. She was very proud and fond of her children, Angela and Belle with their schooling and successful careers. She always kept up with their daily accomplishments and let her friends know how proud she was of them. She idolized Piper her granddaughter and Piper's eyes would always light up when she saw Janet. She also kept up with the daily lives of her sisters Beverly and Alicia and their children. Before her illness she was very fortunate to travel with her husband seeing all parts of the United States. She would always come back with stories of where they had been and what they had seen.Janet will be truly missed by everyone
