Mr. Bernard Eugene Forsythe of San Antonio, Texas, died May 15, 2001 at the age of 78. He was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Maury city, TN to the late Pearl and John Forsyth.

He was a native of Johnson Grove, Tenn., in Crockett County, a U. S. Army veteran and the retired owner of a Mercedes-Benz dealership in San Antonio.

Bernard was preceded by the death of his son, David B. Forsythe. On September 15, 1968 Sp4 David Allen Forsythe, at the age of 18 years old, became a ground casualty. He was killed while in Long An, South Vietnam by small arms fire. His body was recovered.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lou.

His three sons, Michael B., John H. and Dwight F Forsythe, all of San Antonio.

Sisters Gladys Lawrence and Dorothy Acree, of Brownsville and Jackson, Tenn., respectively; two granddaughters, Jonnie Lynn of Huntsville, Texas, and Ashley Forsythe of San Antonio; a grandson, David Forsythe; two great-grandsons, Dereck and Sammy of Huntsville.

Memorial services for Mr. Forsythe were conducted Friday, May 18, in the Oak Hills Chapel in San Antonio, Texas.

Arrangements entrusted to Oak Hills Funeral Home.
