Visitation for Thomas A. Beirne Sr., 85, of Momence, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a 4 p.m. wake service at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Momence, where he was a member, Rev. Vrenon Arseneau & Dennis Settles will officiate.

Burial with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Momence.

Memorials may be made for masses to St. Patrick Catholic Church.

He died Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2002) at Provena St, Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.

Mr. Beirne was a plant manager at Baker & Taylor in Momence, retiring in 1982.

He was born April 7, 1917, in Jersey City, NJ., the son of James & Ellen McDermott Beirne.

Surviving are his wife the former Mary "May" Tidcombe, whom he married March 22,1942, in Carmel, Calif., of Momence; one son, Thomas A. Beirne Jr. of Kankakee; and many nieces & nephews.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

Mr. Beirne was past president of the parish council at his church, a member od the American Legion Post 40, Momence & the Quadrille Club in Kankakee.
