Mark, 38, of Akron died October 30, 2002 at Hospice Care Center as a result of complications caused by Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)

Mark was born August 1, 1964 as the youngest son of Gary F and Lorraine Aguirre .

At a very young age Mark’s God-given talents became apparent. He taught himself to play piano and organ without any formal training after receiving a Hammond organ as a gift. His aspirations of playing beautiful music that served not only as entertainment, but that would lift the soul to spiritual awareness led him to incorporate sacred music in all of his programs, no matter what the setting. He had served as organist at First Baptist Church in Barberton, Emmanuel Church of Christ in Akron, Community Church of Christ in Naples, Fl, and Mogadore United Methodist Church in Akron.

Mark had the privilege of performing in concert and accompanying several accomplished vocalists throughout Northeast Ohio and Florida. One of his most cherished memories was performing on the “Mighty Wurlitzer” located at the Civic Theatre in downtown Akron, Ohio.

Mark received his bachelor of education from Kent State and studied organ and piano at the University of Akron. Throughout the last five years he turned his musical talents toward arranging and composing original music. The fruits of his labor produced “God of Love”, which was recorded and had its debut at the “World AIDS Day” 2001, hosted by KSU. The mother of Matthew Shepard was the special guest for the evening. “God of Love” was dedicated to all people living with or who have been victims of any form of hatred or injustice. “Peace, love and hope is all that’s left for our world…”

Mark was survived by his partner, friend, and confidant, Scott Miga of Akron, who was with Mark until the very end; his mother Loraraine; father, Gary (Jan) Aguirre Sr. Siblings: M itch Peterson, Gary (Frank) Aguirre Jr, Gene (Sue) Aguirre, their son Brian, daughter Miranda Knight; Aunt Gerry and Uncle Gil, Richard and Gladys Gallegos, Gabe Aguirre, Emil Navarro, and a host of other great-aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the US.

Mark was buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetery next to his beloved Grandparents Francisco and Bienvenida Aguirre.
