Conner, age, 28, a farmer, born in Logan County, Ohio enlisted with the 8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, USA on August 2, 1862 in Buffalo, Missouri as a Pvt. in Company "I". September 3, 1862 promoted to Corp. by Order of Col. W. F. Geiger. September 1862 On Duty, Work on Fortifications. November 13, 1862 Absent, Sick in Springfield, Missouri Hospital. March 2, 1863 Absent, Sick at Home in Dallas County, Missouri. April 15, 1863 Absent, Sick at Home in Dallas County, Missouri. July 18, 1863 Absent, Sick in Hospital at Bloomfield, Missouri. August 26, 1863 Died in Hospital at Helena, Arkansas of Erysipelas. Casualty Sheet in File. * September 15, 1874 Notation # 7092-B-1874, War Department, Washington D.C.: 'This soldier was admitted to General Hosptial at Helena, Arkansas {Date not known.} for treatment of Erysipelas and Died of disease on August 26, 1863.' - Ralph Biggs
