Ruth is survived by her husband, Donald "Don" Abraham of New Ulm; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Abraham of North Mankato, James and Robin Abraham of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Andrew Abraham of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bethann Abraham of Chicago, Illinois; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Marvin Grunert of New Ulm; a brother-in-law, Bruce Simmons of Princeton, Illinois; and by 4 nephews and 3 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a sister, Catherine Simmons.
Ruth Ann Koop was born June 6, 1930 in New Ulm to Otto and Vivian (Foerster) Koop. She was a 1948 graduate Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm and a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph's Nursing Academy in Mankato as an LPN. Ruth was united in marriage to Donald Abraham on August 8, 1950 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm.
She was employed at the Loretto Hospital in New Ulm. She volunteered and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Ruth also enjoyed knitting, playing cards, baking and meeting with former co-workers " the survivors" for lunches. Her 2 grandchildren brought her special joy.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
