Roland was born on September 15, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Frank and Estelle (Burhans) Provenzano. He graduated from Necedah High School in 1975.
He worked for two years from 1975 until 1977 at Volk Field Air National Guard Base, Camp Douglas, Wisconsin as Base Ops. Clerk. Roland was one of the founders and a member for four years of the Headstart Board of Directors for Headstart of Central Wisconsin, serving the last year and a half of the four years as Chairman of the Board of Directors. From 1986 to 2004, Roland was a founder and member of the Juneau County C.O.P. Board as a Disabled Representative for the C.O.P. Program.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents: Estelle and Frank Provenzano, a brother, Robert Lee Provenzano, a sister-in-law, Pat Provenzano and a brother-in-law, Roger Ziebell.
