In 1810 he was Ordained Minister at Groffdale Mennonite Meetinghouse Lancaster Co,PA., he preached in the homes in the Metzler community before a meetinghouse was built. In 1826 he moved to Cumberland Co., PA were he was on of the early ministers of the church, worked with Henry Rupp and Henry Martin in this new settlement for six years. In 1832 he moved his family with Henry Martin and other families to Wayne Co., Ohio. they were minsters in the Mennonite Church at Martins near Orrville, Ohio.
