ANDERSON — Samuel G. Myers, 81, of Anderson, passed away on May 21, 2015, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1934, in Honey Creek, and resided most of his life in Anderson.

He served his country in the Marines during Korean War.

He retired from various management positions in area furniture and appliance stores, including Carrico, Leath, Penneys, Village Furniture, Liberal Furniture and Mr. Steve’s.

He was a member of Eagles and Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion and 40 & 8.

Samuel is survived by his loving daughters, Jamie (Harold) Boggs of Anderson and Melissa Myers of Grapevine, Texas, and Anita Hogan of northern Indiana; son, David Myers of Anderson; stepsons, Tony (Connie) Jackson of Anderson and Dana Zirkel of northern Indiana; grandchildren, Crystal Phearson, Megan (Nathan) Frost, Dustin Myers, James Parkhurst, Melissa Myers, DJ Myers; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia (Ward) Myers; father, Fred Myers; first wife, Shirley Myers; second wife, Loretta M. (Young) Myers; siblings, Lois Hilbert, Freida Myers, Helen McCord, Harry Marshall, Lester Marshall and Elmore Marshall; and granddaughter, Tonya Philbert.

Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory has been entrusted with Samuel’s arrangements.

Cremation and burial of ashes will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
