Sylena had a personality bigger than life, her optimism and laughter were contagious, and she could light up a room with her presence. Her sense of humor, consideration of others, and ability to bring people together were incredible qualities.
She graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia, MO as an honor student, cheerleader, and member of the swim team. She graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO with honors, earning a Bachelor's of Social Work degree. She served as a volunteer with the Victim Center in Greene County, MO. Upon graduation she was employed as a deputy juvenile officer in Springfield, where she without question helped improve the lives of many young people.
She realized her lifelong dream to live by the ocean and for the past five years has been employed at The Club on St. Simons Island. This is where she believed she belonged. We will now feel her spirit as the breeze blows through the beautiful live oaks draped with moss looking out over the Atlantic Ocean.
There will be a celebration of life and brunch reception at the Casino building on Friday May 29th 2015, beginning at 9:30am.
