Timothy Joseph Bonney, age 67, of Red Cliff, passed away with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Northern Lights Health Care Center in Washburn. He was born January 19, 1948 in Washburn, the son of Elber and Clarcie Bonney.

Tim graduated from Bayfield High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 until 1970 serving on the U.S.S. F.D. Roosevelt. Following his military service, Tim continued his schooling at WITC in Ashland where he received a machinist certificate. On November 6, 1971 Tim married Patricia DePerry at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Red Cliff.

Tim worked various jobs which included Allwoods, Red Cliff Housing Authority and Bayfield Construction until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of Red Cliff Tribe and the St. Francis Catholic Church. Tim enjoyed playing on the softball, pool and bowling leagues and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also liked to go to the casino, playing pinochle and cribbage and loved being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; 4 children, Francis (Kelly McDonald) DePerry, Paula (Rob Vander Venter) Bonney, Ryan (Ann Knoll) Bonney and Britany Bonney; grandchildren, Kyle Newago, McKenzie Newago and Andrew Bonney; siblings, Michael (Sharon) Bonney, Judy Bonney and Penny (Mark) Kuester; sister-in-law, Bette Bonney; his DePerry in-laws, Barb DePerry, Marlene and Howard Paap, Gerald and Sue DePerry, Ronald and Patsy Ruth DePerry, Ray DePerry, Ed and Patt DePerry and Richard and Karen DePerry; special friends, Sonny Sherman, Joe-Joe Haskins and Tommy Fox; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Catherine and brother, Thomas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Red Cliff with Fr. Kevin Gordon officiating. A VFW Post #8239 military service will be held after the Mass at the church. Food will be served after the services at the Red Cliff Elderly Center.

Visitation will be held after 4:00 pm, Friday, May 29th at the Red Cliff Elderly Center with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
