Marshall Gilbert Abee, 73, of Strawberry Way, Lenoir, N.C., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at his residence. He was born April 12, 1931, in Burke County, N.C., to the late Ed Abee and Maggie Powell Abee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Abee. Mr. Abee was a retired mechanic, member of the National Guard and a member of Hartland Baptist Church. Survivors include his spouse, Vivian Houck Abee, of the home three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Abee of Valdese, N.C., Todd Nichols and wife Donna of Lenoir, N.C., and Keith Nichols and wife Kim of Maiden, N.C. three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Frye and husband Ronald of Taylorsville, N.C., Debbie Haskins and husband Vernon of Drexel, N.C., and Lecia McKinney of Lenoir, N.C. 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Pendry's Chapel with Dr. Steve Parker and Rev. Arvie Houck officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Pendry's. Pallbearers will be Kevin Haskins, Randy Haskins, Josh McKinney, Jeremy Abee, Kyle Abee and Rick Gilbert.
