After graduating from the Aveda Institute in Houston, she moved to Austin to build her career as a hairstylist, makeup artist and beauty consultant. Pera’s career thrived as she built an impressive list of clientele all over the country. She worked with celebrities and families alike.
It’s easy to say that everyone who knew Pera loved her. She was a sweet spirit who knew no strangers. She was generous with her time, talents and energy. Pera grew up the youngest of six children, and she easily found dozens of “adopted brothers and sisters” during her time in Austin. She was pure light and love, and she is terribly missed by people around the world.
Preceded in death by: grandparents, Glen and Rose Leiszler and Mina and Gail Bauer; and uncles, George Leiszler and Dan Bauer.
Survivors: mother, Judy Leiszler, of Clay Center; father, Brian Bauer, of Clay Center; sister, Bridget Bauer, of Austin; brothers, Adam and Thao Vo Bauer, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Luke (Brett) Bauer, of Paola, Kan., John Bauer, of Austin, and Brad Bauer, of Oklahoma City.
She was especially proud to be “Aunt P” to Miles, Pera K. and Susana.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Clay Center, with the Rev. Randall Weber officiating.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 31, with rosary at 7 at the church.
Memorials: Pera Bauer Memorial Fund, to be designated later by the family, in care of the funeral home.
