Snowden Landis Arthur, age 71, of Mabscott, WV, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born on July 21, 1943, in Mabscott, he was the son of the late Snowden Arthur and Nona Cummings Arthur.
Mr. Arthur had been employed in Arlington, Virginia, for the Board of Education and last was employed at Crook’s Produce in Beckley as a warehouse employee. Mr. Arthur enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid Washington Redskins fan and West Virginia University Mountaineer fan.
He was of the Protestant faith and had made his home in Mabscott for the past 30 years.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ramon Lynn Arthur, and Roger Lewis Arthur.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his sister, Ann Davis of Mabscott, a nephew Jeffrey Davis and his fiancée Jessica Nicole of Beckley and a niece Jessica Davis and her fiancé Keith of Mabscott.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rahim for the care given during his illness.
As per his request, Snowden wished to have only graveside rites and burial at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Oak Grove. The service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. Rev. Orville Setliff will officiate the services. There will be no visitation.
