REMIS R BASIL
Pensacola, Fla - Remis R Basil, 59, a native of Glasgow, died Aug 23 in Pensacola, after a lengthy illness. He was a retired staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and a 30 year veteran who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Funeral was Saturday with burial in the Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Basil; nine sisters, Mrs Nina Shaw of Cave City, Mrs Inez Pedigo Mrs Eloise Cash and Miss Antonia Basil, all of Glasgow, Mrs Laura McKee of Jeffersonville, IN, Mrs Peggy Roddy of Bowling Green, Mrs Barbara Proffitt and Mrs Juanita Poynter, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs Bela Turner of Flippin; three brothers, Ralph Basil of Glasgow, Bruce Basil of Loretta and Gene Basil of Bowling Green, and several nieces and nephews.
