Norma Lou Ray Huff, 77, of Deputy, died Monday, June 1, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 15, 1937, in Tyner, Ky., to Homer P. and Estella M. Hornsby Ray. She was raised in Kentucky until the age of 8 when she moved to Jefferson County. She was employed with Regal Rugs in North Vernon, retiring after 25 years. She was a member of the Solid Rock Community Church near Deputy, where she was president of the ladies organization. She enjoyed crocheting, raising flowers, gardening, collecting bears, watching University of Kentucky basketball, camping, fishing, and being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Warren of Deputy, Teresa Shuler of Austin and Brenda Cardinal of Deputy; one son, Danny Dale Huff of Bernie; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Huff Jr., whom she married April 21, 1952, and who died May 19, 1998; two sons, Mark Randall Huff, who died Dec. 20, 1998 and Timothy Lee Huff, who died March 18, 2013; her father, who died June 15, 1979; her mother, who died Aug. 14, 1988; one brother, Odell Ray, who died July 14, 1969; and one sister, Clara Belle Brine, who died in 2001.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Lick Branch Cemetery near Deputy.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service.
