Claiborne Lee Ellis, 69, of 4910 Kendridge Drive, died Thursday, Oct. 24, in his home. Mr. Ellis, a native and lifelong resident of Durham, was the son of the late Hiram U. and Minnie Williams Ellis. He served in the Army during WWII and was a retired computer analyst with IBM. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was married to the late Juanita Cole Ellis who died in 1941. Surviving are 2 daughters, a brother and sister, and 1 grandson.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Hudson Funeral Chapel by Rev. Clint Spence and Dr. Everett France. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Section 5. Pallbearers will be Philip King, William Webb III, Eric Sigmon, Albert Yates, Gary Long and Paul Watkins. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM today at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of a friend, Nancy Webb, 1802 Hideaway Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Triangle Hospice, 1804 W. Martin Luther King Parkway, Suite 112, Durham NC 27707.
