Death of Mrs. Col. J.P. McGuire-The death of this most estimable lady, which occurred at 10:30 yesterday, was a severe shock to her friends, but only because it came a little earlier than was expected. She had been invalid for several months, which fact accounts to some extent for the ripened Christian character so beautifully illustrated in her death. For days previous, she awaited, with calmness, the inevitable result, expressing to husband, daughters and friends her unwavering faith in the religion she had professed. Her prayer for peace was answered, and she is now at rest.
