FRED McCLELLAN LONG, 900 Spruce St., died suddenly Wednesday at 8:30 am after an illness of 3 weeks, aged 69.


He was born and reared in the Downsville district, the son of McClellan and Agnes (Line) Long. He had lived in Hagerstown for the past 47 years.


He was employed for many years by the H. E. Bester Ice company, and later as superintendent of the Washington County Home for over 12 years. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, and the Woodmen of the World.


Surviving are sons, Ralph M. Long and Harold M. Long, Hagerstown; three grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Mary Thomas; three brothers, Brown Long, Williamsport; Ray Long and Jesse Long, both of Hagerstown.

The Funeral of FRANK McCLELLAN LONG will be held Friday at 2 pm at the A. K. Coffman Funeral Home, the Rev. DeWitt Miller and the Rev. J. Rowland Reichard officiating. Interment in Rest Haven Cemetery.
