He was a graduate of Plant City High School, and the Kentucky College of Embalming. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served with the 31st Quartermaster Company, 31st Infantry Division during WWII with tours in New Guinea, Morotai, and Philippines.
He was a retired Funeral Director with Blount-Curry Funeral Home in Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wives Betty Zornes Campbell, they married on 22 December 1946 in Plant City, Florida, and Opal Adeline Keen Campbell, they married 2 April 1989 in Alachua County, Florida.; siblings Dorothy Campbell, Alma Claire, and Dewey Campbell; and step-son Nick English. He is survived by his wife Geraldine Marie Trawick Campbell, they married on 2 September 1999 in Hillsborough, Florida; son Robert A. Campbell of Washington; step-son Richard English of Lakeland; step-granddaughters Tracy Jacobus, and Dory Schneider; niece Linda York; and nephews Charles Morris, and Ken Morris.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Plant City, 503 N. Palmer Street, Plant City 33563, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment at Oaklawn Cemetery, Plant City.
