Paul L. Paxton, 89, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015, while under the care of the staff at Providence Health, Beaver Falls. He was born August 15, 1925, in New Brighton, son of the late Thomas Vincent and Florida Mae (Hughes) Paxton. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. Paul was retired from Babcock & Wilcox, Beaver Falls. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; and was an active member of the former Round-Ball Club of Beaver Falls.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Atkinson) Paxton, and his brother, Edgar Paxton.

Paul is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Mooney, New Brighton, and two grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Paxton, New Brighton, and Tiffany (Corey Ginther) Mooney, New Brighton.

Friends will be received Friday, June 5, 2015 from noon until 2 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A brief committal service will follow the visitation. Interment will be in the John F. Kennedy Memorial Garden of Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
