James F. Allison of Willingboro passed away into God's loving and eternal care Thursday May 14, 2015, at the Masonic Home in Burlington. He was 83.

Born in Coaldale, Pa., and raised in Tamaqua, Pa., he lived in Florence for many years before moving to Willingboro 26 years ago.

Jim retired in 1996 as a maintenance man for the state of New Jersey in Trenton after 12 years of service. Prior to this he was self-employed for many years.

Jim served in the U.S. Army for 10 years as well as the U.S. Air Force for 10 years.

He was a member of the Pemberton Masonic Lodge and was an active member of the Shriners. He enjoyed driving his Shriners Mini Car in many Memorial Day parades. He loved traveling especially on trains, and in his motor home, all across the country.

Jim was a member of the Edgewater Park Elks Lodge and in his earlier years was active with the Florence Fire Company and the Florence Emergency Squad.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Ruth Allison and Paula Linton-Allison.

Jim is survived by his children, Kathryn Allison of Mount Laurel, Mary David (Joshua) of California, Gloria Wagner (Michael) of Massachusetts, Tammy Allison of Florida, Fred Johnson (Margaret) of Browns Mills, and John Linton (Dana) of Pennsylvania. He also is survived by two brothers, Frank Allison (Jean) of Pennsylvania, and Ernest Allison of Georgia; seven grandchildren, James and Jason David, Michele Emmons (Don), Fred Johnson Jr. (Jamie) and Sean, Kasey, and Delaney Linton; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Dennison Funeral Home, 214 West Front St., Florence. Officiating will be the Rev. Ivo Meilands. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Florence.

Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital, c/o Geraldine Barrett, 3551 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
