Mrs. Benford had been ill for several months. She is survived by her husband; a son, Lawrence, Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Nell Fann; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Polk; one grandchild, Sandra Anne Fann, all of Milledgeville; six brothers, James B. and Aubrey Polk of Milledgeville, Floyd and Roger Polk of Macon, Rufus Polk of Americus, and J.O. Polk of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Furney Woodall of Macon and Mrs. Eddie Hackett of Miami.
