Robert Palmer "Bob" Bedell, 85, of Sioux City died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Presbyterian Church. Private burial services will be Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Robert was born in Omaha, Neb., on June 17, 1918, the son of Charles and Adeline (Murphy) Bedell. He graduated from a Des Moines high school. He was a veteran of World War II.

On Oct. 12, 1940, he married Annamae Vachal in Omaha. Robert and his family had resided in Sioux City since 1952. He was a dental technician, retiring in the late 1970s. In past years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid pool player and played in leagues for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Annamae Bedell of Sioux City; a daughter, Pam Butler and her special friend, David Ransford of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Kevern Koskovich and his wife, Kate of Correctionville, Iowa; a sister, Lillian Bedell of Omaha; a brother, Frank and his wife, Alice of Deland, Fla.; four grandchildren, Robert Butler and his wife, Amy of Elk Point, S.D., John Butler and his wife, Kathy of Valley, Neb., Holly Brown and her husband, Rod of Anthon, Iowa, and Russell Koskovich of Iowa City, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren, Kylie, Seth, Jake and Jared Butler, Haley and Cheyenne Brown and Shayna, Ty and Lane Heinert; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a beautiful daughter, Kathy Koskovich; and a son-in-law, John "Jack" Butler.
