George Washington Brickey was born March 24, 1868 to Elder William (Will) J. and Susannah Caylor Brickey. He and Rebecca Ellen Rathbone were married by J. N.Cameron on May 28, 1888. They had two daughters - Zora Ellen and Adra Hazel. Rebecca died July 7, 1894. He and Martha Ellen (Babe) Walker were married by W. H. Oliver on April 18, 1896. The following children were born - Zala Emma, Lucy Florence, Martha Susannah, Nancy Elizabeth, Ester Hassell, Mary Naomi (Omi), William McMillon, John Dexter and George Washington. George died from an injury at work (Little River Lumber Company). He was handling cross ties at the company shops and became unbalanced and fell, the tie following him. The tie pinned him to the ground and caused injuries that resulted in death on March 31, 1917.
