The family of Samuel J. Estes mourns his passing. Born November 28, 1927 to Sam and Lula Estes in Cave City, Kentucky. Entered into rest 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 20, 2006 at Fontainbleu Nursing Home, Bloomington, after a brief illness. A bedside vigil was kept by his wife, Thelma Lou (Kimery) Estes; his three children, Michael, Patrick, and Rebecca, and Patrick's wife of 33 years, Gail. Mr. Estes suffered for five years with Alzheimers and was cared for by his wife of 59 years, at their home south of Patricksburg. Sam was the last of 10 siblings and also predeceased by both of his parents. He was employed 20 years at Chrysler Corp. at Indianapolis, and owner-operator of two Indy car lots; one on Troy Ave. and the other on Morris Street. 28 years ago, he moved to Owen County, where he farmed, bred, and raised dairy cows. His memory will be cherished by his children, Michael and Jana of Indianapolis; Patrick and wife Gail of Martinsville; Rebecca and husband Larry Ruble of Clayton. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Michael Estes, Jr. of Tualatin, Oregon; Heidi Cooper of San Clemente, California; Christopher and Nicole Estes of Martinsville; Lu Lita Wilson of Indianapolis. Also blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Michael and Coral Estes; Arianna Blankenbeller; Danté Chancellor Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Pleasant Hill Community Church, 6261 Pleasant Hill Road, Spencer. Brother Artie Carnes officiating. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment to follow in the family plot at Mount Olive Cemetery, Wilbur Road, Martinsville.
