She was the daughter of the late Mildred Iola Cooper Godwin and William Edward Godwin.
She was also predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth G. Teller and Mattie C. Oppewall; brothers, William P. Godwin, Sr., Ernest E. Godwin, John D. Godwin, and Charles A. Godwin.
She retired after working for many years at Mick’s Pancake House in Norfolk.
Mabel is survived by her sister, Cathy Bullard; brother, George L. Godwin; numerous nieces and nephews; dear and cherished friend Merilee Wiggins.
A funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home, Suffolk, VA with Rev. Richard Saul officiating. Burial will be at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
