Mrs. Julia Windhorn Dies at 81; Rites To Be Held on Monday
Mrs. Julia Windhorn, 81, a pioneer of this city, died Friday at 4:40 p.m.
Funeral services will be held from the Buenger funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. and at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:15 p.m. Burial will be at the Lutheran cemetery.
Miss Julia Augusta Schwartz was born* in Germany, March 2, 1860, and came to New Ulm with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz when a girl of four years of age. She grew to womanhood in this community and was married to August Windhorn at the Courtland township Lutheran church November 25, 1880. The family resided in Cortland and Stark townships for a number of years and then removed to New Ulm. Mr. Windhorn died several years ago.
The pioneer is survived by four living children: Mrs. Bertha Weick, Lake City: Hugo Windhorn, Arthur Windhorn, Mrs. Herman Grandt New Ulm. There are 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
