She moved from Concordia with her family to Lamar, Barton County, Missouri, when she was a youngster. She and Loyd "Dick" Zinn were married there on February 13, 1937.
They moved to Southeast Kansas in the mid-1940s. She was employed at the former Swift and Co. plant, and later at The Broderick Co. She retired in 1968.
She attended the Church of God in Parsons. She loved to sew and to grow African violets. She hosted many family dinners at her home, events always enjoyed by those who attended.
