Josie was the daughter of Henry Willis Grant & Cynthia Ann Gabhart (married 2 Sept. 1850 in Mercer Co. Ky.) She married 1st. 18 April 1868 in Washington Co. Ky., James C. Sallee, & they had one daughter Victoria Sallee. She married 2nd. 27 Dec. 1877 in Mercer Co. Ky., James Sweeney, & they had 7 children. After the death of her first husband in 1891, she married 3rd. 23 Feb. 1897 in Washington Co. Ky., her deceased sister's husband, William L. Yancey.
