Mr. William Thomas Frewen, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 20, 2006. Born April 7, 1924, in Wayne County, Mich., he was the son of William James Daniel and Mary Latham Frewen. Mr. Frewen, a member of Crews United Methodist Church, was a retired major of the U.S. Air Force with 22 years active duty. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Joan Gillman Frewen; a daughter, Carroll Ledford and son-in-law, Robert E. Ledford, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Mary Margaret Bridge of Winston-Salem and Diana Kelley of Lansing, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Jan Frewen of Portland, Mich.; and nieces and nephews, Jean Bridge Craig, Chris Bridge, Mary Anne and Johnny Merritt and Joe and Laura Bridge, all of Winston-Salem, Kitty and Al DeMaria of Wilmington, Todd and Alev Frewen of O'Fallon, Ill., and Terry and Jenny Frewen of Portland, Mich. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Crews United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Huffman officiating. Memorials may be made to Crews United Methodist Church, Memorial Hall Fund, 4150 Reidsville Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is serving the Frewen family of William and Mary Latham Frewen
