Betty June Caudill

Betty June Caudill of Mayking passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at the U. K. Medical center.

Betty was the daughter of the late Watson Hoover and Ruth Fern Moore Wynkoop.

She was born November 25, 1942 being 64 years, 4 months and 15 days of age at the time of her passing.

Betty was a member of the Whitesburg United Methodist Church, the Whitesburg Garden Club, and Beta Sigma Phi Kentucky Chapter Laureate Rho. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a former Kentucky Department of Education Highly Skilled Educator, Region 8 Primary Consultant, Principle of Kingdom Come Elementary School, teacher at Letcher County Technical School, and West Whitesburg Elementary School. She was the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year and a primary Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are her husband: James M. Caudill Jr.; two sons: Rory Kent Caudill of Lexington and Barry Caudill of Mayking; one brother Clyde A. "Rusty" Wynkoop of Lansing, Kansas; one sister: Suzane Thompson of Stockton, Missouri; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Betty was preceded in death by a son, James M. Caudill III and a sister, Kathy Lee Wynkoop.

Sevices for Mrs. Caudill were held Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Whitesburg United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with James Doughton officiating. Honorary pallbearers included the staff of the Kingdom Come School while family and friends served as the active pallbearers.

Burial followed the funeral service at the Caudill Plat in the Sandlick Cemetery at Whitesburg.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg was in charge of arrangements.
