He was born and educated in Wishek, N.D., and moved to Minnesota in 1935. He farmed there until 1955 and traveled for two years before settling in Lodi. He married Anna Breitbarth in 1934, and she died in 1968. Mr. Breitbarth later married Adeline Meyer, and they were married in 1971.
Mr. Breitbarth enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 634, Loyal Order of Lodi and St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lodi.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Breitbarth of Lodi; a son, Gordon Breitbarth of Sacramento; four sisters, Luella Wolff, Violla Burnhardt, La Vera Norby and Stella Johnson, all of Minnesota, and two grandchildren.
