Charles Atkinson Jr., was killed in Indianapolis as he tried to board a moving Traction Car, and his spine was fractured. He was well known in the county

Milton, Ind., Feb. 16

News has been received here of the death of Charles Atkinson, Jr., the 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Newman Atkinson, of Indianapolis.

The young man with a friend had just come home from their work as substitute drivers for the Roberts dairy wagon and in some manner as they attempted to board a moving interurban near the Atkinson home the young man fell. His spine was broken and one leg crushed. He lived only a few moments.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newman Atkinson, were born and reared here, and are also well known at Centerville, where they lived very recently. Newman Atkinson is a brother of Charles Atkinson, Sr., of Richmond.

The funeral took place Monday afternoon. The deceased was to finish school this year and had bright prospects before him.
