Phyllis Mae Wyss Bisson, age 81, of the New Richmond-Somerset area, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2011.

Phyllis was born on Oct. 14, 1929, to Edward and Edna (Reetz) Wyss. She was the oldest of six children. Phyllis graduated from Boyceville High School in 1947. She continued her education at beauty school in Eau Claire, Wis.

Jack was also a 1947 BHS graduate. In 1951, Jack returned from the Korean War after finishing serving his country with the Marines. At that time, they began a relationship which would begin their lifelong commitment on May 24, 1952. Jack and Phyllis were blessed with three children: Terry, Lesley, and Rick.

They moved to several different locations around the state of Wisconsin throughout the years, ending in New Richmond. Jack was employed by Doughboy (Domain Industry) as a field service engineer. Jack died of a heart attack on Nov. 12, 1972.

Phyllis got to know the people in the New Richmond area as a Fuller Brush Lady. Later she was employed at Erickson's Grocery Store (Family Fresh.) She retired from Erickson's in 2000.

Phyllis had been a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church for over 40 years. She served the Lord there in the choir and on the evangelism team and altar guild. Phyllis was also a member of Via-De-Cristo. Operation Christmas Child was also one of her passions. In her later years, her mission was sending cards of encouragement, as she was lead of the Lord.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack); parents, Edward and Edna Wyss; brother, Douglas; and sister Arlyss.

Phyllis will remain in the hearts of her children, Terry (Ray) Baillargeon of Somerset, Lesley (Dell) Pankonien of Deer Park, Wis., and Ricardo (Karen) Bisson of Marathon, Fla. She will also remain in the hearts of her grandchildren, Paul A.J. (Shelley) Baillargeon, Alicia Baillargeon, Joshua Baillargeon, Bob (Leah, Beau, Brady, and Bella) Baillargeon, Tracy (Darrian, Alex, and Kollen) Turner, Jeremiah (Kim and Abbigail) Pankonien, Jackie, Cory, and Sawyer Bisson. Phyllis will be missed by her sisters Norma (Schlottman), Dee (William) Poquette, and Marsha (Richard) Kveton; and many of her nieces and nephews, family and friends.

The celebration of Phyllis's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, New Richmond, with luncheon following. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Phyllis wants to let everyone know that Jesus loves them and so does she. If you don't know Jesus, just ask Him to forgive your sins and come and live in your heart. And she will see you again, here, there, or in the air!
